Research Shows that Unborn Babies Begin to Respond and Detect Light in as Early as their Second Trimester

University of California, Berkeley, scientists have now found evidence that simple cells previously thought only to be able to understand 24-hour, day-night patterns at the second trimester, can actually talk to one another as part of an interconnected network that gives the retina more light and that may enhance the influence of light on behavior and brain development in unsuspected ways.
