Indefinite Affirmative Action is Needed to Maximize Productivity
According to a study by Yale SOM’s Aniko Öry and Michèle Müller-Itten of the University of Notre Dame, ongoing policies to boost minority participation are required to maximize the productivity of the workforce.
This means ongoing policies will need to boost minority participation indefinitely. The study found that the optimal system is, in fact, to over-represent the minorities so that they can then gain the ability to attract and mentor talented workers from the same demographic group.
