Prof. Jeffrey Sonnenfeld on GE’s 3-way Split

Prof. Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, Senior Associate Dean for Leadership Studies & Lester Crown Professor in the Practice of Management, reveals that the reason behind the GE split into three separate companies was an admission of mismanagement.

General Electric CEO, Larry Culp announced the split of the company into three large parts. He is also the first ever external CEO hired. Many other occurrences led to this, and Prof. Sonnenfeld explains why it happened.
