A Workplace Norm That Could Spell Poor Organizational Performance

Researchers have found a workplace norm that could lead to poor employee performance and poor organizational performance.

Oftentimes, because of professional and organizational expectations, employees are directly or indirectly forced to play a role of being in agreement with their bosses or be pleasant and in control even when the situation could easily instigate the opposite. This disconnection between the way they behave and the way they truly feel is called mind-body dissonance.

Having to repeat this behavior regularly can lead to a mindset that is more likely to believe and entertain conspiracy theories and superstitions. It also fuels some negative attitudes. This can further result in negative effects on the company by disrupting the cognitive abilities needed to build trust, decision-making, etc. and eventually poor organizational performance. Achieve remarkable growth in your business.
