Why did you choose NUS HRLP?
The world of HR is rapidly changing. If HR professionals want to make a meaningful impact at the workplace, we MUST stay ahead of the S-curve to acquire cutting-edge HR knowledge and skills in talent management, in order to develop effective HR policies, procedures and programs to manage the various waves of change.
What is one learning that stood out to you the most?
Prof. Michael Jenkins’ webinar on the topic of ‘The Future of Work for HR Leadership.’ The webinar was extremely engaging with a lot of interactive activities such as breakout discussions, mentimeter polls and chat discussions. My key takeaways were about psychological safety at work. When one is psychologically safe, one is willing and ready to take the interpersonal risk of learning. Higher performing teams have a high level of psychological safety.
What was your favorite part of the program?
A continuous learning journey is always rewarding. But for me, besides acquiring the knowledge and learning best practices shared by the distinguished faculty from the NUS Business School, I enjoyed the case competition preparation the most. Connecting with other like-minded global or regional HR leaders on zoom, we made the best of our weekends to look at case studies together, brainstorm, share ideas and prepare for the case competition. We gained a lot of knowledge and expertise to lead and solve real world, real companies’ business problems.
