In new research, UCLA Anderson’s Jennifer Whitson, University of Virginia’s Jieun Pai, Ohio State University’s Junha Kim and KAIST’s Sujin Lee applied attachment theory to how ground level workers could speak up and help streamline processes and procedures in order to make work more efficient. They found that extremely personal feelings were, in fact, the cause for the hindrance. How workers feel about their bosses and the worker-boss relationship can affect their inclination to share their ideas and suggestions.
