Addressing Hunger During the Pandemic
UCLA partners with the nonprofit Venice Family Clinic to provide thousands of free meals to those facing hunger during the pandemic. Since 1970, the Clinic has provided high-quality health care, including primary medical care, dental care, and behavioral health services, at low or no cost to people in need.
Guadalupe Morales, general manager of UCLA’s Bruin Plate, who received help from the Clinic more than three decades ago, now oversees the UCLA–Venice Family Clinic Emergency Food Partnership, which delivers thousands of meals every day to patients facing hunger during the pandemic.
