Stefan Schwandt is the Sales Director at Buhlmann Singapore Pte Ltd. With over 23 years of experience he is a piping industry specialist. His expertise lies in digital strategy, managerial finance, organizational leadership, data analysis, digital marketing, operations management, and more. He was part of the NUS AMP 2023-24 cohort and has shared his experience of the program.
Why did you choose to participate in the NUS AMP?
In January 2023, I was looking for something challenging to get me out of my comfort zone. While one challenge was physical and led to Muay Thai training, the other, and much more demanding challenge, led me to joining NUS AMP.
How was your overall experience of the program?
Going back to the school bench, with many evenings and weekends spent with self-study, homework, and online classes. It was an often-challenging journey through new insights and concepts of digital transformation, marketing analytics, data analytics, strategic leadership, and finance, but the end result is a highly rewarding experience.
In today’s fast-changing business environment, dominated by artificial intelligence, digitalisation, blockchain, data analytics, etc., it is so important to expand our knowledge and not be afraid of the changes that will certainly come from these new frontiers.
How was your experience with the faculty and your peer group?
It was a privilege to meet and learn from great professors such as Prof. Andrew Delios, Prof. Michael Jenkins, Prof. Yoshi Mitsui, Prof. Markus Keiper, Dr. Guo Lei, and many more. All of the inputs and guidance throughout the case competition was invaluable. I also met the current and future leaders from various other industries in my peer group.
