Bhupendra Basera is the Senior Vice President – Sales Leader at Marsh India. With more than 15 years of experience in a variety of industries, including insurance consulting and brokering, logistics, and hotels, he has a solid background in sales and marketing. Among the organizations he has worked with include Aon, TNT Express, HSBC, and Royal Orchid Hotels (ROHL). He is an expert in customer connection management, business relationships, and sales management. He shared his perspective on the program as a member of the Chicago Booth ADP 2022–2023 class.
How was your overall program experience?
Thanks to the incredible professors like Prof. Douglas J. Skinner, Prof. John Burrows, Prof. Greg Bunch, Prof. Scott Meadow, Prof. Hal Weitzmann, and others, my educational experience was incredibly engaging and instructive. They were incredibly patient and used simple syntax to convey complex ideas.
Was there anything about the program that really stood out to you?
The program’s Delhi module gave me the chance to network with and learn from eminent business leaders. We had the pleasure of meeting eminent Indian businessmen who were passionate about their fields and made learning enjoyable and interesting.
How was your peer group experience?
I have had the privilege of working alongside a diverse group of talented individuals across countries, each bringing their unique experiences and perspectives to the table. Interacting with peers from around the world has expanded my horizons. Understanding different cultural contexts and business practices has enriched my understanding of the global business landscape. Our group discussions weren’t just about assignments; they were dynamic exchanges of ideas, challenging assumptions, and refining concepts. I have learned the power of collaboration and how diverse viewpoints can lead to innovative solutions. Navigating through disagreements and finding common ground taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and compromise. The friendships forged during this journey are invaluable. I am excited about the lifelong connections we have created and the potential for future collaborations.
