From Farming in Rural Ethiopia to Graduating from UC Berkeley
Lelisa Bera was born in a village in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia called Dawo Saden, where his parents worked as farmers and he joined them at a young age. But with his mother’s determination, and his, he will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Berkeley. He talks about his life in Ethiopia, his struggles when he came to Berkeley, and then how he began to thrive.
