UK’s Contact Tracing App Prevented 600,000 Cases

Researchers in the UK have calculated how many cases have been prevented through its contact tracing app and the number is quite significant.

During the winter surge in infections, the app may have prevented around 600,000 cases of COVID-19. It has been difficult to measure the effectiveness of contact tracing apps such as this so until then there was no clear number. Exposure notification apps have also had a hard time proving their efficacy through this pandemic, so this research and its results are a welcome revelation.
