Decisions Based on Emotion or Rationality?

A new study co-authored by Yale SOM’s Prof. Taly Reich and Sam Maglio of the University of Toronto, finds that we are more likely to stick to decisions based on emotions or rooted in feelings. The study reveals that decisions made on the basis of feelings hold up longer in the face of new information than decisions made deliberately and rationally.

We tend to not regret these decisions based on emotion when new information is brought to us. While the decisions based on rationality seem to have a weak foundation when faced with new information.
