How should you choose an executive education program?

There are many factors that might affect your decision to take up a particular executive program. Here’s a few things to keep in mind and make an informed decision;

Schedule and location
Executive courses are typically multi-modular, online, part-time, full-time programs, or a combination of all. Some schools distribute their program across continents, with some modules at the university itself and others at another location. You need to decide which schedule suits you best.

School reputation
While all business schools have their merits, you might want to consider the schools reputation or expertise on the particular topic you are interested in.

Program content and mentors
Research each program to see what the primary focus of the program is and whether that is in line with your professional journey and the path you want to take. Also look for programs that offer specific skill-building like management, leadership, technology, negotiation, and soft-skill development. This might be something you want some guidance on when starting a new job or a higher level position. Also, research the professors who might be teaching the program and how their experience and backgrounds can benefit your learning experience.

Global relevance
Depending on your career progression, find out the level of diversity and international exposure offered by the programs. You might want something that is relevant to a global market to boost your career. This also means your alumni will be a global one.
