How Do Antitrust Charges Fare Against Big Tech Companies?

Over 20 years ago, in 1998, the United States government filed antitrust charges against Microsoft. Now, with a new Department of Justice antitrust case filed against Google, researchers have found similarities between these two cases.

On this episode of Capitalisn’t, hosts Luigi Zingales and Bethany McLean talk with two people who were on opposing sides of the Microsoft case. Chicago Booth’s Robert Topel, was an expert witness for Microsoft, and David Boies, was the lawyer who represented the government, talked about the two cases and how one and informed the other.
