COVID-19 Screening Could Prompt Economic Recovery

According to a working paper by UCLA’s Andrew Atkeson and Harvard’s Michael C. Droste, Michael Mina and James H. Stock a nationwide COVID-19 screening could prompt economic recovery. This screening program includes quick verification of positive test results and would help stabilize the economy even with it’s high costs.

Researchers at UCLA and Harvard say that this two-test protocol could promote economic recovery by greatly reducing COVID-19–related fears and unnecessary quarantines, as well as lower sickness and death rates.
