Ginni emphasizes that it is not only vital to get field knowledge but also important to hone soft skills. She argues that one needs to practice apprenticeship in order to do so. Working under professionals and learning alongside them is one approach to properly training. She claims that when you learn from specialists, hard skills become second nature. Yet she contends that, while acquiring hard skills appears to be difficult, soft skills are considerably more essential. She says that developing communication skills is essential and can be readily accomplished if the individual considers two simple things: what they want their audience to understand and how they can make it easier for them to grasp. However, she suggests that, apart from focusing on personal skill development, one must push their peers for skill development as well. Ginny believes that in today’s fast-paced world, it is critical for people to work on a set of talents and improve them rather than focusing on one or two and not continuing their learning path. Finally, she claims that not all of the applicants you recruit have the necessary skill set for advancement. Hence, leaders must take an effort to properly mentor them. While focusing on hard skills is an important aspect of skill development, due to the advancement of significant technologies like AI, big data, and the cloud, both employees and leaders must also concentrate on soft skill development. This assists leaders in demonstrating the value of learning to their employees.
