Great People-Management Skills and Productivity
Berkeley Haas Prof. Steve Tadelis and his co-author have studied the relationship between managers with great people-management skills and employee happiness and productivity to find an unexpected outcome.
Based on research at a large tech company, the study found that employees with managers who scored high on people-management skills were less likely to leave the company than those assigned to less-skilled managers. But, the study also found that managers’ people-management skills may not increase employee productivity, although it did improve their job satisfaction.
