Data Security and the Rise in Cookie Policies

PYale SOM’s Professor K. Sudhir and his co-author examine the impact of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the reason behind cookie policies, on business.

A set of rules is dictating what customer information they company’s can use and how they can use it. Which is why there are a lot more cookie policies popping up in the recent past. A combination of strict privacy rights and data security can lead to more trust, which in turn can lead to sharing data in a more beneficial manner for companies and customers alike.

He also talks about data privacy having more aspects than we would think about. It doesn’t just refer to keeping certain information secret. There is much more to it.
