Company Culture is the Key to Progress

Company culture is the key to leading teams that are a mix of in-person, remote, and hybrid. The current time is volatile for companies in the new challenges they are meeting such as the Great Resignation, and the struggle to manage distributed workforces.

Yale SOM alumni Laszlo Bock, founder and CEO of Humu and former head of People Operations at Google explains why corporate culture is the key to better management and success at any organization. He explains how the top 5 reasons to leave an organization in the current environment has little to do with remuneration. The challenge is to amplify the reasons employees want to stay in an organization and to figure out if this is simply a challenge right now or something that will stick around to create a new normal.

He also explains how managers’ jobs have become a lot harder. Traditional ways of bringing the team together such as team offsites, meetings and other activities are not applicable anymore. So now managers must not only disseminate and review work, they are also responsible for how the team feels so company culture becomes key.
