How to Manage a Hybrid Office

On this episode of The Big Question, a video series from Chicago Booth Review, host Hal Weitzman talks with experts about how to manage a hybrid office. Steven Davis, William H. Abbott Distinguished Service Professor of International Business and Economics at Chicago Booth, Michael Gibbs, clinical professor of economics at Chicago Booth, and Melina Hale, William Rainey Harper Professor in Organismal Biology and Anatomy at the University of Chicago, discuss the ways in which organizations can manage a hybrid office.

Steven Davis has done a lot of research on the effects of working from home and talks about where exactly the productivity gains are coming from. Michael Gibbs talked about the difference in ‘focus time’ while working from home and from the office. And Melina Hale, who is also the university vice provost, and leads remote-work planning for the Provost’s Office, says they do a lot of research and are moving forward with the aim to experiment.
