Electric Vehicles and Multi-Vehicle Households

Research shows the usage of electric vehicles or EVs in multi-vehicle households and revealed the effect of vehicles on the environment.

Lucas Davis, the Jeffrey A. Jacobs Distinguished Professor in Business and Technology at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley talks about how it is important to know how many EVs are actually being used and not how many are being bought. This is pertinent because 90% of households in the US that have an EV also have another non-electric vehicles. And of that number over 60% drive the non-electric vehicle more than the EV.

Davis says that with this information, it is far more important to then understand how people decide what vehicles to buy and also how they decide which vehicle to drive, rather than simply selling electric vehicles.
